"The Man He Killed", the immortal poem by Thomas Hardy

Had he and I but met
By some old ancient inn,
We should have set us down to wet
Right many a nipperkin!

But ranged as infantry,
And staring face to face,
I shot at him as he at me,
And killed him in his place.

Service Selection Boards (SSB)- some useful links for candidates re the methodology, what to expect, etc

SSB Consists of three independent tests-Psychology, Group Tasks, and Personal Interview, all designed scientifically and time-tested to select the right person for this job.

On the final day, every Assessor and the candidate sit together for and have a chat- the fate of the candidate for that SSB is decided by the Assessors collectively there.

Did you know that chittha is Hindi for blog in internet jargon? Just as 'archive' is abhilekhagaar and 'home page' is mukh prishtha . When it comes to blogging, language clearly is not a barrier. An Introduction to (Indian) Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE), with Suggested Reading

Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) is one of the many ways to enter the Indian Military. Others include:
  • via written exams like NDA, CDSE
  • on the basis of graduation (Like BSc, BTech etc)
  • on the  basis on NCC certificates, etc
In my opinion, a candidate should try all options and give as many SSBs as they can.
